Across the country, state bars are delivering a consistent message regarding the use of AI in legal practice. For instance, guidance from the State Bar of California essentially states that AI may assist with legal work but should be treated like a nonlawyer assistant that requires appropriate supervision. Each report includes an AI Risk Assessment section that summarizes and links to potentially problematic records based on DuPont similarity criteria. The AI flags issues, but only a legal professional with nuanced trademark expertise can determine whether a mark is ultimately acceptable. Even if your state bar does not yet require explicit disclosure of AI use, it may in the future; our design makes it easy to explain how AI was used and where attorney judgment was applied.

Confidentiality, Privacy, and Security
Confidentiality by design
Our AI operates within a closed system and is not connected to public large language models. Trademark data is securely cached, stored, and regularly updated from authoritative sources. We do not request or collect client-identifying information, and we cannot access the reports you generate. Dashboard report retention is intentionally limited, both in the number stored and in the duration, to reduce exposure and support prudent data handling. Privacy, data collection & report sharing
Please review our Privacy and Cookies Policy for full details on data collection and use. You can share a report via link or email with one or more recipients in any available format (PDF, Word, Excel, CSV). From there, you may apply your preferred protections, such as password protection, adding the file to a .zip archive, encrypting a PDF, and including a customized note in the email.
Security
Access is protected with two-factor authentication, and sessions automatically end when you close your browser so you do not remain logged in. Additional technical and organizational safeguards, described in our security documentation, are in place to protect data in transit and at rest, consistent with expectations for modern legal-tech systems.
Enterprise level reports / white label
Our PDF reports are designed to look polished and client-ready, with a professional cover page and a clickable table of contents. You can upload your own logo so the report reflects your firm’s branding in front of clients and co-counsel.
Professional judgment & limitations
Our tools support, but do not replace, an attorney’s independent legal analysis. Search results and AI assessments are based on available data and may not identify all potentially relevant marks, records, or risk factors. It is impossible for any clearance report, whether generated manually or via AI, to guarantee that it has 100% captured every potential conflict. Lawyers remain responsible for exercising professional judgment, tailoring strategy to the client’s circumstances, and complying with all applicable ethics rules, including any requirements related to the use and disclosure of AI.
